This was the first time using the backpack. I am not into fishing so I use these bags for trips to the beach. I bought the roll top because I am always scared that the zipper would break on the other bags and make it unusable. This is not a concern with the roll top. When you open it you can get access to most of your items but you do need to take some out. The roll top duffel bag is better if you need access to all of your items at once but this is great to just strap on your back and move. Both are great bags. It is very comfortable and it feels sturdy. It feels better when it is full as it keeps it form more. Very happy with this product and I think that it will give me years of use.
